Meet the Teacher

Johnny A. Tablada is a professional Argentine tango dancer, and a former U.S. Argentine tango champion, with decades of experience dancing, leading, and teaching both leaders and followers the intricacies of the Argentine tango.
Having learnt the Argentine tango with his maternal grandparents, he has been dancing the Argentine tango since early childhood. Originally, with a style called "canyengue," a style which is no longer danced, not even in Buenos Aires, and, later, progressing to salon style.
Developed and polished his own style of dancing, bringing with him a unique style, flavored through intensive training with some of the best legends in Buenos Aires such as Carlos & María Rivarola, Juan Carlos Copes, Carlos Copello, Gustavo Naveira, Fabián Salas, Facundo Posadas, to name a few, and often performing in New York and in New Jersey with the world-renowned dancer Mónica Paz.
Johnny is trained in patent law and has degrees in engineering, astrophysics, and law. In his spare time, he likes to go hiking with his daughter to the mountains and bring his daughter to the milongas.
